Why not 70%, or more?

My advice?

Take this lick-spittle shit-stain, Obey, out behind the shed with a 2x4. Give him the beating he deserves and then some. Repeat if necessary.

That is all.

Yet another effin' year

Feeling older than I am, for now, but that's just my bias.

I'd like to be in a bit better shape, not that it's poor at all. Getting the gut checked next month should be key in stepping up my routine. I'd like to try the local marathon next fall, assuming the country can make it that long.

We'll see how it all pans out.

Missing the Point, Part III

The headline is supposed to be the head-turner;
"British police arrest people ‘just for the DNA,’"
However, they're missing the real travesty of the situation, by nodding their heads at what follows;
"Britain has built the world's biggest DNA database without proper political debate..."
Excuse me, but WTF!?! Without the proper political debate?

Do the Brits not have it in them to know any better any more?

Missing the point, Part II

It isn't the how or the why of doing the wiping, and it isn't the "Ewwww!" factor.

It's entirely about the sanitary factor involved.

Sanitary wiping via TP has been an almost immesurable factor in reducing person-to-person pathogen proliferation, leading to longer, healthier lives.

End of story.

BTW, there's a certain text of a certain religion that proscribes the use of the right hand for doing the wiping. That hand is for eating, the left is for wiping. It's for a reason, and it's plain as day as to why.

Considering war

I challenge anyone to find where this bit wouldn't apply;

"This amendment deals with illegal plants -- the primary thrust being illegal wood. Henceforth, all wood is to be a federally regulated, suspect substance. Either raw wood, lumber, or anything made of wood, from tables and chairs, to flooring, siding, particle board, to handles on knives, baskets, chopsticks, or even toothpicks has to have a label naming the genus and species of the tree that it came from and the country of origin. Incorrect labeling becomes a federal felony, and the law does not just apply to wood newly entering the country, but any wood that is in interstate commerce within the country. Here are some excerpts from a summary:

The Lacey Act now makes it unlawful to import, export, transport, sell, receive, acquire, or purchase in interstate or foreign commerce any plant, with some limited exceptions, taken in violation of the laws of a U.S. State, or any foreign law that protects plants. The Lacey Act also makes it unlawful to make or submit any false record, account or label for, or any false identification of, any plant. The definition of the term "plant" includes "any wild member of the plant kingdom, including roots, seeds, parts, and products thereof, and including trees from either natural or planted forest stands."
Anyone who imports into the United States, or exports out of the United States, illegally harvested plants or products made from illegally harvested plants, including timber, as well as anyone who exports, transports, sells, receives, acquires or purchases such products in the United States, may be prosecuted. In any prosecution under the Lacey Act, the burden of proof of a violation rests on the government.
Violations of Lacey Act provisions for timber and other plant products, as well as fish and wildlife, may be prosecuted through either civil or criminal enforcement actions. Regardless of any prosecution, the tainted plants may be seized and forfeited. Everyone means everyone, which includes every reader of this blog. Obviously, this means that in the future, the Fish and Game guys will be able to accompany SWAT Team raiders to check all wood in homes and businesses for possible violations. Even if they're wrong in their suspicions about the wood, it can still be confiscated."

The possibilities are endless, if the literal reading of this is taken.

Simply living in your current Cookie-Cutter Suburban McMansion will put you on the radar of the Feds, with the proof that you are in compliance and the build date being completely upon your shoulders, no doubt.

{Tick, tick, tick...}

The lies to come

I'm considering buying a new vehicle soon.

Not sure what, exactly, but the emphasis is on soon.

I think Madam Snark is right, the horizon is bleak.

They don't have a fucking clue

I wonder, what's the color of the sky in their world;

"[The Obama administration] seizing on an unusual target to showcase fiscal responsibility: the $700 billion financial rescue.

The administration wants to keep some of the unspent funds available for emergencies, but is considering setting aside a chunk for debt reduction..."

Can Captain Obvious deliver a clean blow with the clue bat, please?

Brings to mind the adage about using a bucket to fill a pool from its own deep end.

Sounds familiar

Lifted, straight from SurvivalBlog;
"Nothing is more certain than that a general profligacy and corruption of manners make a people ripe for destruction. A good form of government may hold the rotten materials together for some time, but beyond a certain pitch, even the best constitution will be ineffectual, and slavery must ensue."
- John Witherspoon, The Dominion of Providence Over the Passions of Men, 1776

I have an equally rational solution

While reading that link (H/T to Billy), I was digesting the particulars, attempting to piece together the comment of permanant Donk control of Congress with the points given regarding marginal and implicit marginal tax rates, when the whole of problem hit me.

It's this;
"In addition to all the other problems with highly subsidized, income-tested health care benefits, will come an even more permanent underclass which, being economically rational, will choose not to earn another dollar rather than lose more than a dollar of benefits."
I, of course, have long been of the opinion that killing most every politician in this country, in a rather public way, would go a long way toward striking the necessary fear into the hearts of the would-be tyrants, except that most people are far too squeemish about seeing blood running in the gutter while watching CNN.

I suppose that my equally rational response is to switch the target from the rulers to the enablers, which, given the current and near term circumstances (the U.S. quickly turning into a third-world country), would be far more feasible, and much more low key. The only question being then, would the fucktards ever get a clue.

Probably not.

I have more notes to take from a few books that I've been reading.

Why not shake down the hustlers first, 'kay?

Isn't it plainly obvious to the entire fucking public what the real problem is, and what's the best plan of dealing with it?

America is completely off of her rocker.

Who the fuck stole my country, and where'd they take her?

Lou Dobbs quits CNN to be a cheerleader

The laugher of the whole bit was this;
"...He said he wanted to pursue more advocacy journalism, a route that was no longer available to him on CNN..."
They must be joking.

Jail time again?

Found over at Chlorinated Liberty, it seems that the jail term has been resurrected, like Lazarus, but it's only 5 years this time, ya see.

Are we supposed to bow and grovel at our masters and thank them for this?

I've got an idea about what to do about this, and I'm sure it's nothing unique.

Pretty much what I have to say about this matter is, "I fucking dare you to do it," to all 535 members of that House of Whores in the Capitol.

Seriously, they can't stop all of us.

Stop me if you've heard this one...

There was this psychiatrist, and he had this psychological problem, and...

Tam's first bit hits the head of the nail, squarely;
"...1) Your next door neighbor, last name Hasan, starts handing out copies of the Koran and giving away his worldly belongings one fine Fall morning? Hey, Zippy! Climb aboard the Hint Train; next stop: Clueville. Quick! What's the number for 911?..."
End of story, for me.

Paintings, Russian suffering and interesting tidbits

I was reading some of my usual haunts this morning when I ran across this post at Billy Beck's place.

I've always been somewhat fascinated with Russia (in the cultural sense only, as Billy also alludes to in his title, Russians - not Soviets), as there have been almost countless wars, the worst weather imaginable, cross-cultural incursions of all sorts for literally thousands of years and, of course, the iron political fist foisted upon the general populace over time. Still, the culture manages to do more than merely exist, but instead thrives, possibly due to the hardships.

I turn to the paintings in his link.

About half way through, I run across the Blinkov painting Fire of the Guard artillery. Those trucks are a pretty faithful rendering of the actual vehicles, lend-lease Studebaker US6 cab-and-chassis, hauling Katyushka rocket launchers.

Some of those trucks are probably still in service in Asia, in one capacity or other.

Interesting to see that, I thought.

I'll tell you why the "Intervention" was done.

It's because these same "True Blue" assholes presume it's OK to stick their noses into everyone else's business and make it their own. It's who they are.

The Lib-Idiots simply can't resist an urge to tell someone else, anyone else, what the fuck to do, insisting that those who would exercise some sort of reasonable discourse on the matter at hand, regardless of the subject, are, "traitors to the cause," as they put it, or some other rot.

Seriously, I don't have much of a dog in this fight, as I generally view the current issue of "politics" in this country as something that is layered with conflated platitudes and philosophy, if the word could actually be used in that context.

Fuck the lot of the free-speech hating bastards.

One question,

What are the Fibbies doing questioning someone for what is clearly a municipal departments' responsibility?

Just askin'.
