My boys did it
So, my alma mater, far better known for its hoops savvy, returned to the Orange Bowl last night for the first time since 1969.
I watched the entire game, and they acquitted themselves nicely, I thought.
They won in a way that they've been using all season, playing as a team, without ego or finger-pointing, even when, late in the third quarter, they were clearly on the ropes. The 'D' came through when it counted and even scored a TD. The offense, sometimes stymmied, moved the ball when they had to and had some big clutch plays, and the special teams were just outstanding.
They toughed it out, however, and beat a perennial east coast powerhouse. Never would have thought I'd see it happen.
