That sucking sound you're hearing...
is coming from California, swirling around the bottom of the bowl, pulling that little bit of air with it, on its way down the shit pipe.
First, this morning from Tam at View from the Porch.
Then later from Billy Beck at Two--Four.
Pay particular attention to the link from Billy's piece, specifically that part about, "eliminate(ing) private medical insurance plans."
Also of note, State Senator Sheila Kuehl, D-Santa Monica, had this to say in the same link, captioned with her picture,
Interesting, isn't it?
1) You can no longer have private weapons (that aren't 'approved' by the state, lest you brand them, and presumably yourself a criminal), as they ARE pushing an angle here, to wit:
2) You can't have personal insurance, since it would contravene the language, so we're told, of the bill when passed into law.
Seems like LOTS of personal, PRIVATE things are going to be going the way of the Dodo bird soon, to be replaced with public, and taxpayer funded, mandates, crammed down everyone's throats. How charming.
I can only hope the aforementioned Senator gets similarly "hung," preferably from a tree. Who's got the rope?

The bill (AB 352) would "expand the definition of unsafe handgun to include semiautomatic pistols that are not designed and equipped with a microscopic array of characters, that identify the make, model, and serial number of the pistol, etched into the interior surface or internal working parts of the pistol, and which are transferred by imprinting on each cartridge case when the firearm is fired." (my emphasis)
