Pandering to the Union base

These "jobs" are needed about as much as I need a new hole in my head.

Oh, and another thing, where the fuck is Congress getting the money for funding this latest bit of vote-buying?

Sorry, that wasn't a real question, as we all know the answer.

It's all just a very large very public money laundering scheme.

Dems bail out state ed budgets.

States don't lay off teachers.

Teachers pay dues to union.

Union donates money to Dems.

The big circle jerk.

Pay to play.

It's all the same thing.

There's a simple solution, if only the Republican congressional caucus had the balls (not) to do it:

Defund the Department Of Education.

Jugears couldn't do a damn thing about it. I can't imagine that an Executive Order countermanding a negative and ordering Congress to spend the money would be Constitutionally sunfast. Well, unless it was appealed in the Ninth Circus, where just about anything is plausible -- strainging at gnats, swallowing camels, that sort of horseshit.

Naturally the Stupid Party, scared of their own shadows as always, would never do such a thing; fear of being called heartless Luddites induces the kind of paralysis we've come to know and loathe from them. And so we can expect them to let us continue to take one on the ass for the team.

They never seem to understand that these days any proposal to the right of Maoist policy is going to get the howler monkeys flinging poo anyway, so they might as well get their moneys' worth.

Yeah, and from my lips to G-d's ear . . .

That's a line I like to use, and often. It's spot on too.

It perfectly describes a bunch of what is happening, both on a macro, and micro level.
