And I'm to believe that more regulation is needed to solve this?

So, a few weeks ago, we all heard about a big, corporate farming concern in Iowa that was sending out salmonella-tainted eggs to a third of the country.

We then heard the cries from the usual sources about how we need tighter regulation from the USDA on this sort of thing.

Turns out, they knew about it all along.

Also, right there in the opening paragraph, an odd statement;
"U.S. Department of Agriculture experts knew about sanitary problems at one of the two Iowa farms at the center of a massive nationwide egg recall, but did not notify health authorities..."
Tell me then, who are these health authorities, if not the USDA themselves? I mean, presumably, that's why they are there, am I right? Do they need to consult some state health agency before blowing a fucking whistle, or something?

So, what are we supposed to do about this, hire even more finger-pointers to sit around and act like they are doing something to "protect" the public from food-born pathogens?

Unfortunately, that's probably what we have to look forward to.
