There's surely more to describe the situation, but those words do immediately come to mind when reading this article from archdaily, at least for me.
Getting caught up with the "coolest kid on the block," attitude often leads to this sort of thing in my profession, especially so with high profile clientele.
It sometimes even makes me laugh.
