Unreliable Source

You see, Furious Mike's Gang of Sychophants is really nothing more than a real gang.

No seriously, they are almost all felons.

Mikey even admits that private sales are not prohibited, but it's clear that the hit is in on this, so that is that.

Remember, Clinton rules are clearly in application now, and it's clear who you pinko-journo types are playing for with these bullshit smear campaigns. There are consequences for lying.

I'll tell you why you can't do it everywhere,

because it just won't work.

This snearing bit just shows how overwhelmingly glib this asshole is;
"...if everyone in the United States lived in an Earthship, this country would no longer be dependent on food and fossil fuels imported from all over the world..."
A bold, cocky and incorrect statement.

Earthships work where there are plenty of sunny days, even in winter.

You can't build one in Minnesota and expect to stay warm. Get these fantasies out of your head.

Exploit the Earth or die.

Move along.

What it's come to

For your edification, please contrast this with these two items, then consider that far less than one hundred years have passed when one could have strolled down The Mall, while packing both a heater and a camera, and you'd never have been assaulted by the fucking police for singing a song in the Jefferson Memorial.

There has been a protracted dustup concering the photographing of certain public buildings, and how legal that might or might not be.

For now, it's OK...but I don't care, as the question being raised, and having it go for as long as, as if I needed to ask for permission to do so from the government, is absurb.

I'm looking at the current, and probable, course of events, and I don't care for what I see.

There are a bunch of Rah-rah cheerleader-types here in this country who are only too glad to help out with the cause of the Gummint doing exactly as it pleases, no matter what the owner's manual might say about such things.

I'm looking, as Jim Rawles clearly states,
"...new executive orders on 'non-sporting' firearms and magazine imports, as well as Obama urging Congress to enact additional civilian disarmament legislation."
Now throw in an outside variable.

Other countries in north Africa and the Middle East seem to be teetering on revolt too.

I'm given to understand that the Saudi financial markets (Jeezis, I never knew there was such a thing) took a serious beating recently; any guesses as to what instability does to the costs of their Black Gold?

Things ain't lookin' so good, as the whole world seems to be awaiting that proverbial last straw, or something, and I can't admit to having either a workable, self-sustaining retreat, nor all of the appropriate preps together for more than maybe a few months, assuming the power stays on.

I guess I'll just have to sit back and watch it all burn.

Look for a backlash

Sorry, but that's just a pattern that I've observed.

This is not going anywhere good.

But, the media doesn't have any bias

Horseshit.

Top to bottom.

Which is why Newsweek could just as easily be called Pravda.

Fuck 'em.

H/T to Mike at SipseyStreet.

Now that's an interesting idea

I think I could get used to the idea of the President, regardless of party, merely delivering a letter to Congress, instead of the typical Dog-and-Pony Show that has been the norm for about that last four generations.

Really folks, that man at the podium? HE IS YOUR EMPLOYEE, NOT A KING.

Treat him as such.

Question,

WTF is going on?

If I were inclined to bark at the moon and pray to trees and Gaia, I'd probably start babbling about how this is a sign of the End Times, or some other rot.

As it stands, I'm thinking that this might just might be a portents of bad things to come, just without all the causative barking moonbat crazy-talk.

Instead, I'm going to buy some more magazines and stripper clips for various firearms, and I'm doing it right effin' NOW!

The short answer

Q: "Why does the government want to destroy your automobile's engine?"

A: Since the Gummint now has its fingers in the game of auto production, they'd like to sell you a new car in the shortest possible interval.

If the shoe fits...

I'm not entirely sure that's the case, actually, as the situation, as I'm seeing it anyway, has been a Pandora's box, with the expected result of creating more problems than the inclusion of ethanol in our fuel could ever solve. Government has a long history of ignoring the immutable law of unintended consequences, and this instance is really no different.

This is how to make me laugh

A quote from the owner's brother, when asked about the unusually large (72,000 sq.ft.!!!) home that was being built on a 500-acre site, just outside Springfield, MO;
"The technology involved with the construction is proprietary in nature,"
No shit?

If I'd wanted something a bit more discrete, I'd have adjusted the scope of the project to something in the half-acre size or slightly smaller, lest the uppity Branson folk down the street develop a case of the Keeping-Up-With-the-Joneses.

H/T to SurvivalBlog for the link.

Things that should interest you

You may wish to substitute, "shock," or perhaps, "terrify," or any of your choice of other adjectives in place of, "interest," to describe your particular reaction to the situation.

For the historically illiterate amongst us, just to let you know, we've been here with this subject before.

H/T to SurvivalBlog.

Update: Completely unbeknownst to me at the time of writing this post, notice Mike's title for his own post over at Sipsey Street.

Closing in on the inevitable

Pay attention here;
"Was the Arizona shooting rampage an inevitable byproduct of Americans having too much freedom?"
Too much freedom?

Is this some sort of sick joke?

The obvious question to be asked is this; When someone in this country even starts asking such inane questions, is there any hope for the continued existence of this society?

The Bolshevik who initiated this line of questioning also had this to say,
"if you want to stop this, you have to be willing to restrict some freedoms."
That sounds about right, coming from someone who's never been part of a culture of freedom, and remember, we all know how well that has turned out in Russia, don't we. (That's a statement, not a question, BTW.) I'd point to some other obvious statistics, here, but the point being made with those isn't germane to the argument, just like the Commie scumbag at the press conference.

I'll take the offensive and dangerous stuff, along with the freedom, as highly preferential to institutionalized slavery.

Bill Maher goes off the reservation

Caught just a smidgen of this last night, while shutting everything down.

I wish I'd stayed in the other room.

If you can stomach it:

The man is willfully glib, and is completely out of touch with reality.

Shaking my head over here, amazed at how far down the drain this country has gone.

Of all places...

To find some thoughtful words about stuff that really matters.

I liked this one;

"...Asking us to forever hold our tongues lest we awake their deeper demons infantilizes and neuters us and makes politicians no safer,"

This country used to be a beacon of light for the rest of the world to follow, and at its very essence, it is partly due to the ideal of free speech. It's nice to see some haven't forgotten that virtue.

Thanks, Lt. Winters

More death of history.

Fortunately, Stephen Ambrose was able to get that history out of the primary sources, and write it all down, in an excellent book.

Personally, I find that Band of Brothers should be required reading in US History in all high schools across this country.

May you enjoy the rest you have so deservedly earned, sir.

Huh?

Not sure I can explain any of this.

What is it, exactly, that is to be gained by passing a federal law, for the prohibition of felons procuring body armour?

I mean, we've already tried the gun control route with this same demographic, and that hasn't been exactly a stellar success, has it? I'd cite some examples, replete with links, but I find it unnecessary with such things; it's tantamount to trying to provide evidence of two plus two actually equalling four, or something similar.

Just Shit, already

Just what the morons and collectivists need right now for more of their usual screeching of gun control.

The mad-ass little shit supposedly likes the Communist Manifesto and Mein Kampf, so, I'd say it's probable that he's a fellow sociopathic Leftist, styled in the mold of Che, or some other shit-stain on history.

No going well

I had read the piece in the news earlier today about that bit of mail doing it's rapid oxidation trick at the sorting facility in D.C. I hadn't read anything until just now that suggests it was addressed to Janet II. Someone, it seems, is pissed at Big Sis.

I had also casually noticed that the same thing had happened just yesterday, twice.

This is it, whether anyone wants to admit such things to themselves or continue with the lie. I'll not call this the first shots fired in this civil war, but these are definitely clear indicators of an escalation.

The statists have already determined that the citizenry is the cause of the problems, and has openly engaged in developing a branch full of JBT's to clear out in dissidents.

Things are not going well.

It will only get worse from here.

Getting that queasy feeling

Look at that embedded vid, then tell me how you feel about your Gummint.

Notice the rather overt Gestapo visualizations in there.

You should be concerned that the video comes from a bureaucracy that is beholden to no one, and can't be easily dismantled.

Big Brother is watching you, and you can't do a damned thing about it. At least that is the message that I'm reading.

You have GOT to be shitting me!

Never mind the bullshit of this being some sort of, "Political stunt," as that turn of phrase is originating from the dubious MSM, here.

The important part is this bit;
"The U.S. Constitution will get its first-ever reading on the floor of Congress."
That strikes me as more than odd. Not so much that it's an exercise that hasn't been performed in, say, that last 50 or so years, but that it's never been done, at all.

Ever.

In the history of the country.

The very document that authorizes and outlines the responsibilities and duties, as well as the limitations of the government, has NEVER been read in the chambers of Congress.

This should scare the shit out you.

Is it too early for a drink?

Ezra Klein can't read

And he's a self-appointed authority on what, exactly?

Swing from a tree, asshole.

Note to ALL media outlets; if you want me to take your shit seriously, don't hire bullshit-spewers who are barely out of their Underoos™ to write political commentary. He's 26 years old. I'm sure he can barely find his ass with both hands.

Dumbasses

I could poke a stick at the poll, and who conducted it, but it's largely irrelevant, as I have every confidence that the opinion (spewing of bullshit, actually) of most people, in reality, would be the same.

You people really don't know dick, do you?

Proof positive that we will get the government we deserve.
